    May and June 1936:

May 5, 1936 ground was broken for the $12,500 WPA swimming pool at the Ada Community Park.

May 1936 Cole Motor Sales installed a 550 gallon gasoline tank and a computing pump and was selling Texaco gasoline.

June 1936 William Rouston who celebrated his ninetieth birthday on March 12, was the only survivor of the Civil War at Ada’s Memorial day services last Saturday. He is the only veteran living in Liberty Township and one of five in Hardin county. He was born in Findlay in 1846 and came to Ada when he was six years old. He enlisted in 1862 at Cannonsburg. Routson marched with Sherman to Atlanta. He was wounded twice during the war and two of his brothers were killed. Five grizzles old comrades, all that are left of the 718 members of the Art Armstrong post No. 202 G.A.R. at Lima, joined in the observance in that city.
