County-wide tree discussions in Ada
By Monty Siekerman
Representatives from the four village and town with tree commissions in Hardin County met together on Friday afternoon for the first time to discuss common issues and agreed to meet regularly to share ideas.
For example, Ada, Kenton, Forest, and Mt. Victory all have annual Arbor Day events in April.
What one town does to celebrate Arbor Day also may work in another town. Some other ideas discussed were how to get volunteers to help trim trees, how to manage insect problems, how to allocate budgets, what programs work and which ones don’t work.
Sixteen tree commissioners from the four towns met for lunch and discussion at Community Health Professionals. Ada organized and hosted the session.
