Jonathan Allen receives Land Grant Opportunity Scholarship
Jonathan Allen of Ada, a homeschooled student at Allen Academy, is the recipient of a Land Grant Opportunity Scholarship to attend Ohio State University in the fall.
The scholarship covers the full cost of attendance of $21,361 per year for four years. It includes tuition, room and board, books and miscellaneous costs. Jonathan will need to maintain a 3.0 grade point average to continue to receive the scholarship.
Land Grant Opportunity Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate academic merit and financial need. In Ohio 176 students received the scholarship this year, with an attempt to award scholarships annually to two students in each of Ohio’s 88 counties.
Jonathan intends to major in communications at OSU and plans to attend seminary following graduation.
He has been active in Liberty Belles and Boys 4-H Club, has participated in mission trips, Encore Community Theatre productions and was a member of the Ada HS boys’ soccer team where he lettered for four years.
He is the son of Patrick and Deb Allen of Ada.
