Health department confirms second county case
The Kenton Hardin Health Department has been notified of a second confirmed case for COVID-19 in a Hardin County resident.
We have contacted the patient and the individuals exposed and they have been instructed to self-quarantine and monitor for symptoms," according to the department's news release.
The health department will be in daily contact with these individuals for monitoring of temperatures and symptoms. No personal information about the case will be released to protect the privacy of the individual.
As Dr. Amy Acton, Director of the Ohio Department of Health has been reporting, we know community spread has been occurring throughout Ohio, including our community.
Kenton Hardin Health Department urges you to stay home when you are sick. You do not need to be a confirmed case to follow this critical public health direction. If you are caring for or live with someone who is sick, please self-quarantine if at all possible.
If you can’t self-quarantine, then you must practice social distancing (keeping 6 feet from each other) and avoid being around other people. If you are out in public please consider wearing a mask as well, per the Governor and Director of the Ohio Department of Health.
