Ohio Northern will hold children’s auditions for the “Holiday Spectacular” at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10, in the Freed Center. Auditions will be held for singers and dancers, ages 5 to 12.
Those who are auditioning may be asked to sing and should be ready to participate in a dance call (jazz and/or tap shoes). There will not be prepared dance or vocal solos.
The Holiday Spectacular has been a regional tradition for more than 20 years and includes dancing, singing and skits. It is performed at both the Freed Center as well as the Veteran's memorial civic & convention Center in Lima.
It’s an all out for United Way day in Ada on Monday, Sept. 11.
And, El Campo Mexican Restaurant, 124 N. Main St., Ada, is going all out.
According to the United Way President, Merleen Barnes, El Campo will serve its Mexican cuisine with a percentage of sales designated and pledged to United Way of Hardin County during the hours of 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sept. 11.
The United Way assists 20 non-profit agencies in Hardin County, serving in the areas of health, edification and welfare.

Generally, about 20 to 25 dogs are available for viewing.
The shelter is also the place to contact for giving up a dog, if you find a lost or stray dog, or if you come in contact with a vicious dog. It costs $20 to surrender a dog, which pays for deworming and immunizations for when it is rescued.
Ohio Northern junior Ashlie Baumann (Sterling Heights, Mich./Stevenson) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of Sept. 1-4.
Baumann led the Polar Bears (8-0) to a victory in the season-opening Bluffton 5k on Friday at the Bluffton Nature Preserve.
She led Ohio Northern across the finish line in fifth place of 90 runners in a career-best 18:48 which ties her for 10th all-time at Ohio Northern.
The Polar Bears will return to action Saturday at the Calvin (Mich.) Invitational.
