HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team wrapped up its regular season with a tri-meet at NCAA Division II foe Hillsdale (Mich.) with No. 20-ranked Case Western Reserve on Saturday afternoon at McAvoy Natatorium.

The Polar Bears (5-4-1 overall) fell to Hillsdale 162-125 and to Case 215-84.

Case (8-2) also defeated Hillsdale (7-2) 184-107.

Sophomore Lauren Halle (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton) and freshman Claire Kaiding(Waterford, Mich./Brandon) each had a second and a third place finish to lead ONU.

WHEATON, Ill. — The Ohio Northern wrestling team placed four wrestlers at the Wheaton (Ill.) Pete Willson Invitational on Friday-Saturday at King Arena.

The Polar Bears finished 10th of 35 teams.

Junior Clayton Davidson (Kirtland) led the Polar Bears with a third place finish at 174 pounds. Davidson was seeded fourth in his weight class and posted a 5-1 record on the weekend.

Fifth-seeded sophomore Nate Barcaskey (Moon Area) placed sixth at Heavyweight. Barcaskey posted a 3-0 record on Friday to reach the semifinals, but medical forfeited his three matches on Saturday to finish sixth.

Tiffany N. Haney, age 38, died Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Lima Memorial Health System.

            She was born on October 25, 1979 in Bluffton, Ohio, to John and Bonnie (Shaw) Haney, who survive in Ada.

Tiffany attended the NOP-Not An Ordinary Place in Dunkirk.

            Private Family services were held at an earlier date.

The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team defeated Ohio Wesleyan 157-84 and fell at No. 3-ranked Kenyon 179-64 on Friday night at the Steen Aquatic Center.

The Polar Bears move to 7-1 overall and clinch their 11th consecutive winning dual meet season. The Lords improve to 2-3 and the Battling Bishops fall to 5-4.

Kenyon also defeated Ohio Wesleyan 153-79.

Senior Braden Kuhn (Tiffin/Columbian) won the 3-meter diving in an NCAA Regional qualfying score of 279.60 points to lead Ohio Northern. He also finised second in he 1-meter diving with 252.80 points.

Junior Anthony Ferrell (Canton/Glen Oak) posted a second place finish in the 100 breast in 1:28.47.

Four of the Polar Bears' seven wrestlers are still alive and six of the seven posted two or more victories after the first day of competition.

Fifth-seeded sophomore Nate Barcaskey (Moon Area) led Ohio Northern with a 3-0 record and is in the semifinals in the 285-pound weight class.

Three other ONU wrestlers are in the consolation fourth round.

The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team tied Ohio Wesleyan 117-117 and fell at No. 2-ranked Kenyon 195-46 on Friday night at the Steen Aquatic Center.

The Polar Bears move to 5-2-1 overall and clinch a winning dual meet season. The Lords improve to 3-3 and the Battling Bishops move to 4-3-1.

Kenyon also defeated Ohio Wesleyan 145-79.

Junior Kierra Watson (Brownsburg, Ind.) led Ohio Northern with three top-5 finishes.

She was fourth in the 100 fly in 1:02.16, was fourth in the 100 back in 1:03.84 and was fifth in the 200 free in 2:05.18.
