The following impacts to traffic related to the reconstruction and widening of Interstate 75 through Findlay and Hancock County are occurring or scheduled to occur in the coming weeks:
Dates to Note: (Dates reflect a one-day delay due to weather from the original schedule.)
Dec. 18 – Traffic will be affected overnight in the southbound direction during preparations for removal of contraflow lane, all Findlay exits closed (details below).
Dec. 20 – The entrance ramp from county Road 99 to I-75 southbound will be closed overnight (details below).
Dec. 21 – Contraflow lane on I-75 southbound removed (details below).
Two Ada community organizations – Ada Area Chamber of Commerce and Ada Community Improvement Corp (CIC) – will hold elections for board members this week.
Ada Area Chamber of Commerce will meet at 8 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 20, in the Dean’s Heritage Room of McIntosh Center. David Dellifield, chamber president, will preside at the final meeting of his two-year term as chamber leader.
A slate of board members for next year will be provided at the meeting. Also on the agenda is the discussion of hiring its first-ever part-time director.
Ada CIC moved from monthly meetings to quarterly meetings in mid-year. This is the first CIC meeting since this past summer.
Gary Neil Webb, age 66, died on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 3:11 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
He was born on August 27, 1951 in Lima, Ohio to Charles and Opal (Williams) Webb. His father preceded him in death and his mother, Opal survives in Lima. Gary married Barbara S. Caudill and she survives in Ada.
Mr. Webb graduated from Allen East High School in 1969. He worked at BP of Lima for 26 years.

Community members can join ONU students for the course “American Architecture: Understanding the World Around You” during spring semester. The course will examine the importance of architecture in understanding history and the built environment.
There is no fee for community members who want to take the class on a non-credit basis. Community members who wish to enroll will have options to take the course as a senior citizen or auditor, and information on those options will be available through the registrar’s office.
