To add to the festivities, they would love for you to share any memories you may have of Heterick through the years. Whether you remember carrying books over in 1968 or seeing the first-floor renovation in 2016, they want to know about it.
The Ohio Northern women's soccer team was ranked No. 8 in the final United Soccer Coaches Poll. Northern (20-2-2 overall) jumped from No. 14 to No. 8 after making a run to the Elite 8 round of the 2017 NCAA Div. III Women's Soccer Tournament.
Dr. John K. Estell, professor of computer engineering and computer science, is coauthor of the new book, "Engineering Design and the Product Life Cycle: Relating Customer Needs, Societal Values, Business Acumen, and Technical Fundamentals," published by Momentum Press.
The book attempts to answer the question of “What is good design?” by exploring some of the fundamental principles associated with design. It also examines engineering design in a broader context through means of the product life cycle.
Dr. Christine North, associate professor of communication arts, was elected vice president of the Patient Advocate Certification Board (PACB).The PACB is creating the first national exam to certify patient advocates. The first exam will occur in March 2018. PACB Board members come from a variety of professional backgrounds and have one thing in common – a passion for helping patients. It is their job to be sure that those advocates who assist patients professionally on their journey through the health care system bring a variety of important and proven skills to the relationship.
The ONU Marching Band, the “Star of Northwest Ohio,” will close its season with a halftime performance at the Cleveland Browns football game on Sunday, Dec. 17. The marching band is under the direction of Dr. Charles Bates.
Ernestine M. Hawley, age 91, died on Friday, December 01, 2017 at 11:45 a.m. at Vancrest of Ada.
She was born on June 17, 1926 in Ada, Ohio to the late Charles “Jim” and Mildred (Goddard) Walls. On May 28, 1944 Ernestine married B.G. Hawley and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2006.
Ernestine graduated from Ada High School in 1944 and The Lima School of Practical Nursing in 1962. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ada. She was a stay at home mom and housewife persuing many hobbies, but mainly quilting, sewing, crocheting and knitting. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
