Dustin Funk collects toys or money for the price of admission to the 37th annual, all-day, 11-team ONU wrestling invitational on Saturday at the Sports Center. Funk, a senior, is a former wrestler who plans to enroll in law school. Last year the wrestlers collected $1,500 and dozens of toys for Hardin County needy children. Colleen Wilson, a volunteer with Keep Hardin County Beautiful, plays the piano while guests visit the Milks home on South Johnson Street during the Candy Cane Tour of Homes held on Sunday afternoon.

If you missed the tour of two places in Ada (The Inn was the second Ada stop), then you'll have to wait for two years for the next tour. Keep Hardin County Beautiful organizes a tour of homes in the county every two years. This year's venues also included five homes and businesses near Kenton.

"Here, Santa, do you want a banana," Cullen Callahan, 4, seems to be saying.

The exchange took place during Breakfast with Santa at The Inn on Saturday morning.

Cullen is from Lima; Santa is from the North Pole.

The Sold Out event drew 70 youngsters and family members for a festive buffet, a gift from Santa, and a photo with Jolly Old Saint Nicholas. Santa also listened to the children's wish lists.

The Kroger Crusaders Relay for Life Team is presenting a Christmas dinner on Sunday, Dec. 17 from noon until 4 pm at the Amvets Post 1994 in Kenton.

Tickets are available by calling 567-674-4440 or 419-673-5368.

The event is sponsored by the Kenton Kroger Store and Amvets Post 1994. Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

Sophomore Nolan Huey (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge) finished third in the 200-meter backstroke, setting a new school record in the event, to lead the Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team on the final day of the 3-day Wooster Invitational on Saturday at the Timken Natatorium.

The Polar Bears finished fifth of nine teams

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team posted an 86-84 victory over Capital in its Ohio Athletic Conference opener at the Capital Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Polar Bears improve to 3-2 overall, and are 1-0 in the OAC, while the Crusaders fall to 2-4, 0-1.

Senior Nate Burger (Dayton/Alter) led four Ohio Northern players in double figures in scoring with 23 points and a team-high eight assists.
