The Kroger Crusaders Relay for Life Team is presenting a Christmas dinner on Sunday, Dec. 17 from noon until 4 pm at the Amvets Post 1994 in Kenton.

Tickets are available by calling 567-674-4440 or 419-673-5368.

The event is sponsored by the Kenton Kroger Store and Amvets Post 1994. Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

Sophomore Nolan Huey (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge) finished third in the 200-meter backstroke, setting a new school record in the event, to lead the Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team on the final day of the 3-day Wooster Invitational on Saturday at the Timken Natatorium.

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team posted an 86-84 victory over Capital in its Ohio Athletic Conference opener at the Capital Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Polar Bears improve to 3-2 overall, and are 1-0 in the OAC, while the Crusaders fall to 2-4, 0-1.

Senior Nate Burger (Dayton/Alter) led four Ohio Northern players in double figures in scoring with 23 points and a team-high eight assists.

ADA — Senior Alexis Kirkbride (Zanesville/Bishop Rosecrans) poured in a career-best 15 points as the No. 15-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team powered past Capital 64-38 in its Ohio Athletic Conference opener on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.

With their fifth consecutive victory, the Polar Bears improve to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the OAC, while the Crusaders drop to 2-3, 0-1.

Kirkbride was a blistering 5-for-6 from the 3-point line, tallying a career-high 15 points to lead the Polar Bears offensively.

Sophomore Nate Barcaskey (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) won the individual title at heavyweight to lead the Ohio Northern wrestling team to a second-place finish at the 37th annual ONU Invitational on Saturday.

The Polar Bears had a strong outing, finishing the tournament with 11 wrestlers placers in eight of the 10 weight classes.
