MEDIA RELEASE__In gratitude for Billy ’96 and Brenda Watterson’s profound generosity to the University of Findlay, UF has named its newest building in their honor.  

The Findlay community came together April 30 to celebrate the dedication of the Watterson Center, formerly known as the College of Business/Center for Student Life building.

ARCADIA __The visiting Ada High School softball team defeated tough Blanchard Valley Conference co-leader Arcadia 3-0 in a makeup pitcher’s duel on Monday, May 11.

Bulldog freshman hurler Aubry Jordan struck out 14 Redskins to punctuate her shutout victory. She gave up just two hits and two walks over seven innings in a masterful complete-game win.

Jordan hurled an immaculate inning in the second, striking out all three Redskins on nine pitches. 

Ada improved to 19-3 overall and 6-2 in the BVC with the big road victory. The Bulldogs are now 6-2 away and 13-1 at home.

LIMA BATH__The visiting Ada High School tennis team defeated Bath 3-2 in a makeup match on Monday evening, May 11.

The Bulldog netters improved to 3-7 after posting their third win in four matches. Bath fell to 0-11 after the loss.

“I feel like we are making progress, and I am lucky to be a part of it,” said first-year Ada head coach Shelleigh Alexander. “We have been learning what it takes to win and I hope we can use that momentum going into sectionals.”

Hard-serving Bulldog junior Brandon Prater rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at second singles over Wildcat junior Braycon Jolliff.

ARCADIA__The visiting Ada High School baseball team lost to Arcadia 4-1 in a Blanchard Valley Conference makeup game on Monday, May 11.

Arcadia scored two runs in the second inning to take a 2-0 early edge. The Redskins added a single run in the fourth to extend the lead to 3-0.

The Bulldogs tallied their lone run in the top of the sixth frame, but Arcadia matched it in the home sixth to provide the final margin.

MEDIA RELEASE__Upper Scioto Valley defeated Hardin Northern 16-1 in a game that was previously suspended on April 27.

The Rams will be back in action at Kenton on Tuesday, May 12 at 5:30.

ADA_The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce will host the May Membership Breakfast on Wednesday, May 20th at 8:30 a.m. at Beatitudes, 210 N. Main.

Enjoy a hot, homemade breakfast while connecting with fellow members and community leaders.

The featured speaker will be Greg Grimslid, former Hardin County Judge and attorney at Grimslid and Hood. Grimslid will be speaking on the importance of having a trusted business and personal attorney, and why strong legal guidance matters for both individuals and businesses.
