All Ada residents will be asked to participate in a mandated Ohio Environmental Protection Agency survey. The survey will be included in your next water bill.
The deadline for responses is February 15, 2023.
The Village of Ada has been mandated by Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) to implement a CROSS CONNECTION PROGRAM to comply with current regulations as defined in the Ohio Administrative Code Rule 3745-95-04(C). The purpose of the program is to protect the safety of community public water supplies. A CROSS CONNECTION is any temporary or permanent connection between the Ada public supply and another source. An example would be piping between a public water system and an auxiliary source such as a private well or lawn sprinkler system.
OEPA requires that the first step in the program is to have water customers complete a survey regarding any possible cross connections at their residence or business. A cross connection is any temporary or permanent connection between the public water system and another source of water. Backflow is the undesirable reversal of flow of water into the public water supply system. Contamination due to a backflow from a cross connection can occur in a public water supply if a backflow prevention device is not installed.
We ask for your cooperation by completing the cross-connection survey HERE. You may submit the survey by:
- Completing the survey and placing it in the Village utility payment drive up drop box located at the west end of the Depot parking lot.
- Completing the survey and dropping off at the Village Utility office.
- Completing the survey and mailing to Village of Ada PO box 292, 115 West Buckeye Ada Oh 45810.
- Completing the survey and calling the Village office at 419.634.4045 option #1.
