The Ada Council met for a regular meeting on the evening of June 20 with Mayor David Retterer presiding and council members Sean Beck, Jason Campbell, Sheila Coressel, Jef. Oestreich and Bob Simmons present. The absence of Sheila Mason was excused by a motion from council.

Three claims registers were unanimously approved by council including 2023-12A in the amount of $285,445.82, 2023-12B in the amount of $69,933.71 and 2023-12C in the amount of $34,654.99.

PUBLIC COMMENT
Resident Beth Milks presented concerns she had outlined in a letter sent to Council regarding large, noisy parties. Resident Amy Morgan also spoke about large parties held by ONU students.

UTILITIES COMMITTEE
A leak adjustment OF #390.78 for Busy Bee Realty was approved.

DEPARTMENT REPORTS

Fiscal Officer Patty Navin distributed May 2023 bank statements for Council review. Navin requested $40,000 from the general fund be transferred to the new Revitalization/Beautification Fund approved on May 16, 2023.

Police Chief Cooper reported that since the last council meeting 108 calls for service were received including 11 incidents. Cooper reminded Council that Chief Harnishfeger’s retirement party will be held Thursday, June 22 from 12:00-3:00 p.m. at the Depot; A presentation will be made at 1:00 p.m. 

Village Administrator Jamie Hall presented items including construction and maintenance reports as well as grant applications and funding.

• Grandview Blvd Reconstruction: All sanitary sewer main lines are completed. 
• BWC has awarded the Village a safety grant for $40,000 for partial funding of a trailer mounted hydro-vac and valve exercising equipment totaling $85,000.
• Bluffton Paving has performed Village paving totaling $157,224.20.
• CDBG Critical Infrastructure Grant for the water meter replacement project was submitted on June 12; CDBG Neighborhood Revitalization Grant was submitted on June 14; the East Lincoln Ave Ph II grant was resubmitted on June 15 to the ODOT Small Cities Program. 
• Availability of the 2022 water quality report known as the Consumer Confidence Report on the Village website HERE will be noted in utility billing this month.  

Council entered executive session at 7:20 p.m. and reconvened into open session at 7:55 p.m. No action was taken and the meeting adjourned at 7:56 p.m.

The next regular meeting of the council will be held on Wednesday, July 5. Village offices will be closed on July 4, so the meeting is delayed by one day.
