Jess W. Hipsher served in the U.S. Army
Jess W. Hipsher, age 96, of Dunkirk, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at the Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green.
He was born on September 22, 1927 in Lima to the late Samuel and Susie (Maus) Hipsher. On April 30, 1948, Jess married Ellen L. (Morgan) Hipsher and she preceded him in death on March 16, 2022.
Jess was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He worked for Nelson Tree Service for over 50 years.
Jess is survived by his sons: Neil (Beth) Hipsher and Jess (Jan) Hipsher both of Dunkirk; four grandchildren, and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Hipsher of Findlay.
He was preceded in death by five brothers: Jack, Bernard, Robert, Roger and Gene; and six sisters: Verna, Mary Emma, Leila, Waneta, Beulah and Peggy.
Graveside service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Dunkirk Cemetery, Dunkirk with Pastor Gregg King officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
