FROM BLUFFTON ICON - Saturday's Blaze of Lights Festival draws families and friends off the couch and away from screens large and small  to enjoy a festive day in downtown Bluffton.

The 33rd annual celebration is expected to draw several thousand people to the village, according to Paula Scott, CEO of the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce. 

Bluffton’s shops, restaurants and festival vendors are ready to keep visitors busy, warm, and well-fed.

Searching for the perfect Christmas gift? Here's a suggestion from The Inn at ONU, 401 W. College Ave., Ada.

The Inn suggests purchasing as a Christmas gift admission to its 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 1 evening of wine from around the world.

Tickets still available for Dec. 6-7-8 performances at Civic Center, Lima

The Freed Center's scheduled performances of "Holiday Spectacular" are sold out.

However, tickets for the production on Dec. 6, Dec. 7 and Dec. 8 in the Lima Veterans' Memorial Civic and Convention Center are still available.

Those performances times and dates follow:
• Friday, Dec. 6, 7:30 p.m.
• Saturday, Dec. 7, 7:30 p.m.
Matinees
• Saturday, Dec. 7, 2 p.m.
• Sunday, Dec. 8, 2 p.m.

The fully staged musical revue ushers in the holiday season and includes dancing and singing while showcasing the performance talents of ONU students and area children.

We're not certain if this is Dancer, Prancer, or Comet.

But, we do know that it's one of Santa Claus' reindeer and two of the deers will be in Ada during Merry on Main from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 2, at the historic railroad depot.

Merry on Main includes lots of family-friendly activities. Those activities follow:

Dec. 11 at Ada Public Library

The library is hosting a craft night on Wednesday, Dec. 11 FROM offered by Stephanie Myers of Simple Treasures By Steph and Rosie Cheeks Bakery. Participants are able to paint their own wooden cookie tray, and decorate three cookies from Rosie Cheeks Bakery.

"There are four choices of wooden cookie trays to choose from. Everyone
who attends will paint a Christmas cookie tray or personalized tray with
handles, and they will get to decorate three of Rosie Cheeks Bakery's delicious
cookies," said Myers.

The 27th annual Ada Schools senior citizens Christmas luncheon will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the gymnasium of the K-12 building.

The Varsity Singers will perform at the conclusion of the meal. Residents of the Ada school district, who are 62 or older are invited.
