Come dressed up to watch Halloweentown

Alger Public Library offers a free family-friendly movie on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. in the library, 100 W. Wagner St., Alger. 

This month's movie is Halloweentown, a Disney movie. Snack and a drink will be provided.

This event is free, and people are encouraged to come in their Halloween costumes. 

A rustic flair and brush event on Oct. 16

Ada Icon viewers, looking for an evening of fun?

Here's your invitation from the Ada High School yearbook staff.

A yearbook fundraiser takes place from  6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16, in the Ada schools cafeteria. It's a rustic flair and brush event and all participants will have an evening painting a project to complete and take home.

The cost is $50 to $55 per person, depending upon the project selected. The cost includes a board, paint, supplies, snacks and drinks, according to Anna Yoakam, yearbook advisor.

A craft and sip event is planned at Viva Maria's, on Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 5:30- 8 p.m., according to Stephanie Myers.

Tickets are $35, which includes supplies to paint your own sign, one drink, and light appetizers. Participants have the choice between two signs to make. Additional drinks and food may be purchased.

The local MOPS group is holding a Mom2Mom sale this Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9 to noon at Ebenezer Mennonite Church gym, 8905 Columbus Grove Rd, Bluffton. At Mom2Mom sales, you'll find gently used kids clothes, covering all ages, plus maternity wear, accessories, and toys etc. This sale is sponsored by the Mothers of Pre-Schoolers (MOPS) group, which meets at Ebenezer.

There is no admission free. Instead, MOPS are collecting non-perishable food/canned goods for the Bluffton Food Pantry.  MOPS also offers a bake sale, by donation, with all proceeds going towards their program.

FROM BLUFFTON ICON – The Bluffton community’s 16th annual Fall Festival, with many family-oriented activities, takes place throughout the community on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. 

New this year, Bluffton Family Recreation will host a “Kickoff Event” on Friday, Sept. 27, beginning at 5 p.m.

Schumacher Homestead (Swiss Community Historical Society)
Bluffton Hospital
Downtown Bluffton (Mercy Health Bluffton Family Practice
     and the Farmer’s Market)

A speakeasy comes to Ada on Saturday, Sept. 28, and you are invited.

The Inn at ONU hosts a speakeasy cabaret from 7 to 9 p.m. offering a chance to travel back in time to the Roaring 1920s Prohibition era.

The evening includes appetizers, sparkling beverages and the sound of gold age jazz standards performed by the ONU Musical Theatre Class of 2020.

Tickets are $35 per guest. Reservation are required and seating is limited. To reserve your seat, call The Inn at 419-772-4112. A portion of the proceeds benefit the ONU musical theatre class.
