The Village of Ada utilizes the services of Central Collection Agency (CCA), Division of Taxation, for municipal income tax issues. If you have filed municipal taxes in years past, you are may be accustomed to receiving a tax package, including tax forms, from CCA each January. In the interest of reducing costs, CCA will no longer be mailing those forms directly to you. You may receive an informational postcard in the mail from CCA, explaining the change to you.
The Village/Water office now has copies of the 2014 tax forms available. We will also be providing the Ada Public Library with a limited number of forms.
Village crews work around the clock through major snowfalls to keep the Village streets as safe and passable as possible. Please keep the following tips in mind:
- Crews do not wait for a snow emergency to be declared to begin clearing roads. If you are able to park your vehicles off the street, please do so. Once the public lots at the Depot and the corner of West Buckeye Avenue and North Gilbert Street are plowed, please consider using those lots.
The holidays often find us with an excess of many things, including refuse.
Please remember to call the Water Office at 419-634-4045 or contact the office via email through the Village website, by the end of the day on Monday of each week, if you will have extra items for the regular weekly refuse pick up.
Waste Management may leave items that are outside of totes if we do not hear from you.
For your safety, please be sure to bag any refuse, including boxes and packaging. Refuse pickup after the holidays can be an ideal time for would-be thieves to scope out what new electronics and toys you may have received based on the boxes that have been left out for pick up.
The long awaited 2015 Waste Management recycling calendars have arrived in the Village Water Office.
Residents who have their refuse collected by Waste Management as a part of the Village contract also have recycling collection available to them. As in the past, the recycling is collected every other week, whereas the refuse is collected every week. Many residents have come to rely on the calendars, which are printed and sent to the Village by Waste Management each year.
Finals week at ONU next week may explain the collective sigh you may hear settle over our community! Many students will be leaving their Ada homes to return to their families for the holiday break. Full time residents of Ada may also leave their homes over the holidays for more than a day or two in order to spend time with loved ones in other cities and states.
Returning home to a water situation over the winter months is not the welcome home party anyone wants. Avoid walking into a flooded home or apartment by remembering a few key points:
