When the Village of Ada made an emergency announcement regarding drinking water on January 16, the Village alert system notified subscribers by email and, a little later that evening, the Ada Police Department notified its subscribers via the Nixle System. MEDIA RELEASE ISSUED January 19, 2026 8:50 a.m.__A Level 2 Snow Emergency was declared by the Hardin County Sheriff.
The Village of Ada Municipal Building will be closed to the public in the event of a Level 2 or Level 3 Snow Emergency as declared by the Hardin County Sheriff.
Calls will still be answered during regular business hours. 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

As of 6:00 a.m. the do not drink do not use order for the Village of Ada has been cancelled.
You may still experience cloudy water as we continue working to stabilize the pH. We thank everyone for their support and patience as we worked to quickly resolve the issue.
Water Flushing Recommended
The Village of Ada is recommending that water customers flush their water for 10-15 minutes and rewash any clothes or dishes that were done after 6:00 p.m. Friday. This will help avoid any irritation or digestive issues that high pH may cause. The Village would like to thank all of the residents for their patience and understanding during this time while we diligently worked with the EPA to resolve this issue.

Numerous national news outlets have recently highlighted a December 24, 2025, update to the United States Postal Service manual on postmarks and postal possession. The update emphasizes that postmarks represent the date an item is processed, not the day the item is received.
