Rolla Stratton was retired from Ford Motor Co.

Rolla M. Stratton, Sr., 87, died on Monday, Sept. 7, 2015, at 1:10 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima, Ohio.

He was born on July 22, 1928, in Hardin County Ohio to Samuel and Leona (Spees) Stratton who preceded him in death. On May 22, 1954, he married Jean Ann Amstutz and she survives in Ada.

Rolla retired in 1992 from the Ford Motor Company after 33 years where he worked as a millwright. He served in the U.S. Navy during the end of WWII. Rolla attended the Alger Assembly of God Church.

Fay Bassitt was married on horseback at 1947 Labor Day Rodeo in Ada

Laura Fay Bassitt, 88, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, at 4:24 p.m., at the Lost Creek Care and Rehabilitation Center. Fay was born June 13, 1927 in Hardin County, Ohio, to Charles R. and Pearl R. (Peggs) Johnson who preceded her in death.
  
Fay and Robert E. (Bob) Bassitt, Sr. were married on horseback at the Labor Day Rodeo in Ada on Sept. 1, 1947. They were together for over 67 years when Robert died on April 7, 2015.

Apache Williams 1940-2015

Apache M. Williams, 75, died on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 at 9:09 p.m. at Hardin Memorial Hospital Emergency Room, Kenton.

She was born on Feb. 27, 1940, in Ada, Ohio, to Harry H. and Margurite (McElroy) Williams who preceded her in death.

Apache retired from International Paper in Kenton where she worked in the Quality Dept. She was a member of the Ada VFW Post #9381 Ladies Auxiliary.

Arrangements incomplete for Bernadine Ackerman

Bernadine E. Ackerman, 93, died on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 3:40 a.m. at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.

She was born on Nov. 7, 1921, in Lima, Ohio, to Isaac and Mary (Bethel) Brewer who preceded her in death. On March 7, 1942 she married Leonard Ackerman and he survives in Harrod.

Bernadine was a homemaker. She formerly worked at Westinghouse of Lima and then was a manager at Equity Dairy of Lima. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, LaFayette. Bernadine was a member of the Ada VFW Post #9381 Ladies Auxiliary.

Thomas Hubbell was a member of the Ada Park Board

Thomas C. “Tom” Hubbell, 82, died on Monday, Aug. 17, 2015 at 3:28 a.m. at his residence in Ada.

He was born on May 1, 1933, in Ada, Ohio to John E. and Margaret Lucille (Firestone) Hubbell who preceded him in death. On Aug. 8, 1953 he married Janet L. Welsh and she survives in Ada.

Tom was a self employed Licensed Land Surveyor. He was a member of the County Line Church of the Brethren, where he was a former Deacon. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. Tom was a member and owner of Shawnee Long Rifles and a member of the Ada Park Board.

Jerry Joseph 1950-2015

Gerald L. “Jerry” Joseph, 64, died on Friday, Aug. 7, at 3:34 p.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

He was born on Sept. 17, 1950 in Lima, Ohio, to John “Buck” Joseph, Jr. and Goldie (Courtright) Breece. His father survives in Arizona. His mother is deceased and dad, Robert (Vicki) Breece survives in Lakeview. On May 20, 1996, he married Kathy L. Mann and she survives in Harrod.

Jerry retired as an electrician from Continental Plastics, Lima, and DTR Manufacturing, Bluffton. He was a member of the Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533.
