Paul Richardson was a past Allen County Farmer of the Year

Paul E. Richardson died at 7:45 p.m., June 4, 2015 at Otterbein Care Center, Cridersville.

He was born on June 26, 1925, to Harry and Hazel (Dreitzler) Richardson in Allen County.

Paul attended Harrod High School. He married Betty Jean Rose on Feb. 2, 1942. They were married 73 years. He was a member of the the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was very active in Harrod FFA, where he assisted the chapter on several trips to Kansas City and Chicago for exhibitions.

He was voted “Farmer of the Year” in Allen County in 1958. He retired from farming in 1970 and started selling farm equipment. 

Gene Crouse was past commander of Ada American Legion Post

Raymond Eugene Crouse,  93, died on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 12:45 p.m. at his residence in Ada.

He was born on December 6, 1921 in Ada, to Joseph and Verna (Augsburger) Crouse who preceded him in death. On May 30, 1942 he married Betty Klingler and she survives in Ada.

Gene retired from Ford Motor Company of Lima after working 25 years as a millwright. He formerly worked as an aircraft assembler at Douglas Aircraft in Santa Monica, Calif., and Curtis-Wright Aircraft in Columbus.

Phyllis Scott was a 1954 graduate of McGuffey High School

Phyllis Carol (Puckett) Scott, 78, died on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at 5:59 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health Systems, Lima.

She was born on Aug. 8, 1936, in McGuffey, Ohio, to Lark and Rebecca (Hackworth) Puckett who preceded her in death. On April 14, 1956, in Harrod, Ohio, she married Elmer Lee Scott and he preceded her in death on June 19, 2004.

Phyllis was a homemaker. She attended the Alger First United Methodist Church, Alger. She led a Wednesday evening Bible study in her home. She was a 1954 graduate of McGuffey High School and attended Ohio Northern University, Ada. She enjoyed meeting with her 1954 McGuffey High School classmates monthly.

Ruth Clark was born in Ada

Ruth Clark, 92, died on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at 4:30 p.m. at Primrose Retirement Community of Mansfield.

She was born on July 11, 1922, in Ada, Ohio, to Edward and Inez (Asire) Weber who preceded her in death. On March 27, 1948, she was married to Joseph Clark and he preceded her in death on May 23, 2003.

She had previously been employed by the Swift Company and Telegram Office in Lima. She was a member of the LaFayette Congregational Christian Church and was a past president of the Women’'s Fellowship there. She also served as a den mother for the Boys Scouts.

Emmett McDaniels 1935-2015

Emmett K. McDaniels, 79, died on Sunday, May 24, 2015, at 11:09 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.

He was born on Aug. 12, 1935, in Magoffin County, Kentucky to Rubin and Solo (Rowe) McDaniels who preceded him in death. On Oct. 5, 1963 he married Phyllis Sexton and she died on March 13, 2004.

Emmett worked as a pipe fitter for the Union Hall #329.

He is survived by a daughter, Martha Juanita Cramer of Alger; two grandchildren: Justin Michael Cramer and Kellie Marie Cramer; three great grandchildren: Mariah, Serenity and Hayden.

He was preceded in death by four brothers: Lesley, Jess, Wesley and Glen Daniels; a sister Cora Alice McInis Espinoza.

Mae Sizemore visitation on Tuesday

Mae Sizemore, 91, died on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 6:20 a.m. at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.

She was born on June 11, 1923, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to Joe and Rosa (Warrix) Calhoun who preceded her in death. On Nov. 25, 1940 she married John P. Sizemore and he died on Sept. 23, 2010.
