The Freed Center presents "An Evening for the Arts"

An Evening for the Arts is planned Saturday, March 22, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.,  at The Freed Center at Ohio Northern University. A "behind the curtain" open house event showcases the music, fine arts, and performing arts departments at Ohio Northern University.

An Evening for the Arts will feature showcases and displays from fine arts students, instrumental and vocal performances from music students, technical theater portfolios on display, monologues, scenes, musical duets, and dance performances from students in the performing arts department.

ONU multicultural fair, March 28

Ohio Northern University will hold its annual Multicultural Fair in the McIntosh Center Activities Room on Friday, March 28, at 5 p.m. This event is a collaboration of ONU’s International Services, ONU Student Senate and seven multicultural student organizations.

Additionally, international students from Bluffton University, the University of Findlay, the University of Toledo and Tiffin University have been invited to attend and participate. The event is free and open to the public.

Ohio Northern University student awarded USITT scholarship

Ohio Northern University student Anne Wright Liddick, a junior international theatre production major from Greenville, Ind., was awarded the 2014 United State Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT) Ohio Valley National Conference Scholarship.

Freed Center presents "Take 6," awarding-winning a cappella group

 

Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents the award-winning a cappella group Take 6 on Saturday, March 15, at 7:30 p.m.

Take 6, the most-awarded a cappella group in history--with 10 Grammy awards, 10 Dove awards, a Soul Train award, two NAACP Image Award nominations and more--knows no musical bounds.

ONU honors distinguished engineering alumni

 

Ohio Northern University’s T.J. Smull College of Engineering honored Harold Marker and Jack Ridge with Distinguished Alumni Awards on Feb. 26.

Marker, who graduated from ONU in 1952 with a civil engineering degree, founded Thomas & Marker Construction Co. in Bellefontaine, Ohio, in 1965 after working for 12 years for a large commercial construction firm. He became the sole owner in 1983, and the company continues to grow with offices in Bellefontaine and Columbus.

Katie Robinson named assistant Women's Soccer coach

Katie Robinson has been named the assistant women's soccer coach at Ohio Northern. Robinson also currently serves as the head coach of the U-15 and U-18 club teams at Ohio Premier.

Robinson joins the Polar Bears from Capital, where she served as an assistant for one season, helping the Crusaders make a run to the Final Four. Before coaching at Capital, Robinson served as a graduate assistant at Goucher (Md.) College from 2011-2013.

Robinson was a three-time All-OAC honoree at Capital from 2007-2009 and was named OAC Forward of the Year in 2008. She graduated from Capital in 2010 with a degree in athletic training and received her masters degree from Goucher in 2013.
