For the first time in school history, the Ohio Northern women's track and field team has won back-to-back Ohio Athletic Conference titles in the outdoor meet after claiming first place in the 2018 OAC Championships on Saturday afternoon at Kerscher Stadium.

The Polar Bears took the team title with 166 points, while Mount Union took second place with 154 points, narrowly edging Otterbein who finished third with 153.5 points.

ADA — Senior Matt Molinaro (Sterling Heights, Mich./DeLaSalle) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Distance Runner of the Year as he helped guide the ONU men's track and field team to a third place finish at the 2018 OAC Championships at Kerscher Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Mount Union won the team title with 212 points, while John Carroll was second with 162 points and ONU rounded the top three with 95 team points.

The third place finish marks the fifth consecutive season that the Polar Bears have finished in the top-3 at the meet.

BEXLEY — Ohio Northern rallied from a quick 5-0 deficit to post a thrilling 11-10 victory and claim a share of the Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season title on Saturday afternoon at Bernlohr Stadium.

The Polar Bears (14-2 overall) end their third OAC season as a varsity program tied for first place with John Carroll with a 7-1 record.

ONU will be the No. 2 seed in next week's OAC Tournament and will host third-seeded Baldwin Wallace in the semifinals on Wednesday evening at Dial-Roberson Stadium.

Regina Nagy, MD, a physician specialized in obstetrics and gynecology, has joined the experienced women’s health care team at the Neil & Laura Clark Women & Children’s Center, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System.

Dr. Nagy received her bachelor’s degree in biology and mathematics at Wilberforce University (Wilberforce, Ohio) and her master’s degree in anatomy at Wright State University (Dayton, Ohio). She completed medical school at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and fulfilled her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Detroit Medical Center.

MOUNT VERNON — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team wrapped up its regular season with a convincing 9-0 victory at Mount Vernon Nazarene on Saturday at Ramser Tennis Courts.

The Polar Bears improve to 14-8, while the Cougars fall to 2-18.

Senior Cody Hurley (Centerville) led ONU with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. He also combined with sophomore Tyler Frantz (Bellefontaine) to win 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
