The Ohio Pharmacists Association (OPA) announced that Michael Rush, R.Ph., PharmD of Ada was honored as a distinguished UNDER 40 award recipient for professional achievements and vision in the practice of pharmacy at its 140th Annual Conference held April 20-22 in Columbus.
Rush's vision for Ohio Northern University's HeathWise program has created educational outreach services to support the health and wellness of the community.

Dogs like Earth Day, at least Penny does because she got a new toy. Zeta Tau Alpha sorority sisters showed passers-by how to repurpose old t-shirts by cutting the shirts into strips then braiding the cloth into a dog toy.
Several organizations had tables set up on the Tundra on Saturday to celebrate Earth Day, encouraging recycling and repurposing material.
There were even free cookies with blue icing indicating oceans and green icing for continents—you could swallow all of the Western Hemisphere in just a few bites.
Earth Day was organized by the Environmental Politics class and ONU Recycles.
The fence is up and the construction trailer has been moved in to prepare for the construction of a new College of Engineering Building. Work will begin in earnest after commencement in mid May. It will be located between a Heterick Library and the College of Pharmacy Building. The new $30 million structure will be twice the size of the current Engineering Building. The 17th annual Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) Service of Remembrance takes place at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 29, at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 120 W. Sandusky St., Findlay.
The non-denominational memorial service honors BVHS patients and residents who passed away in 2017. All are welcome to attend, which will be followed by a reception.
This service commemorates the lives of patients and residents cared for throughout Blanchard Valley Health Systemn including Bluffton Hospital, Bridge Home Health and Hospice, Birchaven Retirement Village, Blanchard Valley Hospital and Independence House.

To give a dog a forever home, contact the Hardin County dog shelter. It is located at 49 Jones Road on the west side of Kenton.

Generally, about 20 to 25 dogs are available for viewing.
The shelter is also the place to contact for giving up a dog, if you find a lost or stray dog, or if you come in contact with a vicious dog. It costs $20 to surrender a dog, which pays for deworming and immunizations for when it is rescued.
KENTON - The Ada baseball team fell 11-1 at county rival Kenton Wednesday evening.
The Bulldogs drop to 3-10 overall after their sixth consecutive defeat. The Wildcats upped their record to 5-6 with the victory.
Kenton scored in five of their six innings at bat. They built a 4-1 lead after four frames, then put it away with three in the fifth and four more in the sixth to invoke the 10-run rule.
Ada was out-hit, 6-3. Zac Swaney, Aaron Evergart and Austin Amburgey each singled for the Bulldogs. Swaney and Jacob Morgan each stole a base, and Morgan tallied the lone Bulldog run in the fourth.
