Ohio Northern University’s James F. Dicke College of Business Administration honored Oscar J. Mifsud with an Outstanding Service Award on Saturday, Oct. 6.

The award, given annually at Homecoming, honors individuals who have provided sustained and outstanding service to, and whose contributions have positively impacted, the College of Business Administration and Ohio Northern. This is the fourth year that an Outstanding Service Award has been presented by the college.

2012 Ada High School homecoming royalty Michael Chen and Morgan Rouch were crowned on Friday, Oct. 5. 

Other senior on the court were Kellen Decker, Mason Acheson, Josie Corwin and Erica Kier.

Other members of the court were freshman Blake Ansley, sophomore Lane Nitchie, junior Matthew Wilcox, and freshman Claire Toland, sophomore Tessa Coulson, and junior Alexis Rhodes.

President Elect- Heather Cox called the 2nd meeting (October 9th) of the 2012–2013 Kiwanis year to order at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 9 at McIntosh Center, ONU.

The invocation was offered by Jon Umphress. 

The birthday of member Brian Myers (October 9th) was noted.

Member Accomplishments: Jeff Schulman was formally elected as Lt. Governor-Elect (Division 2) at the Ohio Kiwanis Governor’s visit Monday night in Bellefontaine. Jon Umphress was also in attendance.

In business:
-Members heard an updated financial report from Brian Marshall, club treasurer.

The Ada Icon introduces a new feature this month. The Icon now posts the blog written by David MacDonald, Ohio Northern University chaplain.

MacDonald’s blog, titled “All Shall Be Well,” is described by the author as “musings of a college chaplain on life, faith and other deep stuff.”

His most recent blog posted on Sept. 28 is titled “We Didn’t Know We Were Poor…” Thoughts on Poverty and What We Can do.

President Elect Heather Cox called the 1st meeting (October 2nd) of the 2012–2013 Kiwanis year to order at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 2 at McIntosh Center, ONU

The invocation was offered by Jon Umphress. The following guests were introduced: Sarah Lipperman, Alyssa Mason, Katie Temple, Allie Puntel and Katie Lorson-ONU Circle K; and Judge William D. Hart.

The membership anniversaries celebrated on October 1st were noted: Al Baillis 1958; Jeffery Schulman 1978; and Charles Van Dyne, 1960.

The wedding anniversary of Scott and Jamie Wills (1994) was also noted.

Joe Ferguson reported that the landscape at the village entrance signs has been updated.
