Ada Flagline & Winter Guard compete

The Ada Junior High Flagline and High School Winter Guard completed at
Olentangy Liberty High School in OIPA circuit (Ohio Indoor Performance
Association) competition Sunday

The Junior High Flagline earned first place with their Harry Potter “Free
the Elves” theme which continues Hermione’s quest to free the house elves
from their masters by presenting them with socks.

Members of the Flag Line include Mitchel Frazier, Olivia Thomas, Tessa Long, Alaina Robirds, and Olivia Green.

The High School Winter Guard placed first in the Scholastic Open class.

Ada Varsity Singers win trophy

 

The Ada Varsity Singers won second runner up trophy in class C at the Marion Harding competition on Saturday. Hunter Wells received the Best Performer award.

Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl thanks to great craftsmen and craftswomen in Ada, Ohio, who created the footballs for Number LII.

Ada won the Super Bowl Eve Party II, just like it did the previous year as the Wilson football dropped at midnight on Super Bowl Eve.

The hometown party played out all evening and the temperature didn't affect the outcome. By 11:30 p.m. the Ada depot parking lot was rocking.

The Icon will post photos and replays of the festival all week. Here are some photos to get the ball rolling.

The Super Bowl is in Minneapolis - but a Saturday event, an Ada football drop, celebrates this community's connection to the larger world of sports.

The Saturday midnight football drop launches Super Bowl LII, in the hearts of Ada residents.

The second annual “Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival” on Saturday, Feb. 3, will celebrate the village of Ada’s connection to the biggest football game of the year.

Limited-edition Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival posters available

Here’s this year’s Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival limited-edition poster for sale at $30. They are available now at Easter House Bed and Breakfast, 508 N Main (419-558-1071) and Gallery for the Arts, 115 S. Main.

The Gallery is open Thursday and Friday 10-1 and 2-4 and Saturday, 10-2. Posters also will be sold at the Depot on Saturday evening.

The silk-screened posters were created by ONU art professor Melissa Eddings Mancuso.
