Want to see a neat Ada video?

Whether you attended the Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival on Super Bowl Eve, you'll love this short clip of the evening. It's in the creation of the Ohio Northern University videographer.

Posted on the ONU Facebook, it's already had nearly 4,000 views. To view click here (the link takes you to the ONU Facebook). Then, scroll down to Feb. 8, get some popcorn, sit back and watch.

Community Improvement Corp invites community membership

It's the economic development arm of the village

Ada's Community Improvement Corp. (CIC) invites membership from the Ada community in 2018.

Membership in the CIC is open to all interested residents. An annual membership is $25.

Community improvement corporations are economic development arms for the governmental body they serve. In that way, a CIC advances, encourages and promotes industrial, economic, commercial and civic development in a community.

CIC meetings are open to the public and take place at noon on a quarterly basis in McIntosh Center on the ONU campus. The next meeting is April 18.

Ada Mayor endorses Cross

Ada Mayor Dave Retterer has endorsed Jon Cross for the 83rd Ohio House race in the Republican primary on May 8.

Cross said, “I am grateful for Mayor Retterer's personal support and have worked extremely well with the mayor and various county, township, city and village officials on economic and community development projects.“

Chamber accepting nominations for Ada's business of the year

Winner announced at annual meeting Feb. 21 at Wishing Well

Ada Area Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual meeting at noon, Wednesday, Feb. 21, in the Wishing Well in McIntosh Center at Ohio Northern University, according to Deb Curlis, chamber director.

The meeting takes the place of the chamber’s regular monthly meeting.

The meeting will include a review of the chamber’s activities in 2017. In addition, the chamber will recognize a business of the year.

The chamber accepts nominations for that recognition until noon on Friday, Feb. 16. RSVPs for the dinner are also on the 16th. Tickets are $15 each.

Noteworthy Community Choir auditions coming

Vicki Mills, artistic director; choir will give guest appearance in Ada's June pops concert

Noteworthy Community Choir announces opening season auditions, March 12 - 17, according to Vicki Mills, Ada, choir artistic director.

Interested singers, ages 8 - 88+ should contact NCC to schedule an audition.  NCC will make a guest appearance at the Ohio Northern University, Lima Symphony Orchestra Patriotic Pops Concert on June 30, in addition to performances throughout the area. 

Audition, rehearsal, and tuition details can be found atwww.noteworthycc.org, or by calling 419-679-8259.  Weekly rehearsals in Ada and Lima run April 9 through June 30.
