Apollo Career Center's board of education will act on legislation at its July 23 to place a tax levy on the Nov. 6 ballot. Voters in the Ada school district will have the levy on their ballot.

Ada First Presbyterian’s Bible Quizzers captured 4th place in national competition at Bethel College July 5-7 and Ada’s Elita Smith won the “quote-off,” an event for individuals.
A second Ada quizzer, Jeremiah Smith, came in second in the one-on-one, another competition for individuals.
The quote-off is similar to a spelling bee, according to Ada quizzer Noah Allen, except the participants must recite a Bible verse or verses verbatim rather than spell a word correctly.
Four Ada quizzers – Will Allen, Carissa Miglin, and Elita and Jeremiah Smith – were named to the East Central District’s All-Star team.

The birthday of Joe Ferguson (July 6th) was celebrated in song.
The 50th membership anniversary Mark Shull was noted. He joined the club on July 1st, 1962.
The wedding anniversary of Tom and Karen Kier (June 30th, 1984) was also noted.
It was reported that member Dustin Brooks of the financial services firm Edward Jones in Ada recently won the firm's exclusive Spirit of Partnership Award for outstanding performance during 2011.
Through our continuing rebuilding efforts, AEP Ohio has
restored power to approximately 88 percent of the approximately 660,000
customers affected by the catastrophic storm that moved through the
state June 29 and the additional customers who lost power in subsequent
storms July 4 and 5.
As of 5:00 p.m. today, power has been restored to approximately 581,000
of the customers affected by these storms. Approximately 79,000 AEP Ohio
customers remain without power this afternoon.
The Buy Ada First Committee has organized a Music On Main event for Friday, July 13, from 6 – 8 p.m. at The Depot parking lot, weather permitting.
WONB 94.9 FM is providing music, several businesses are having sidewalk sales, some restaurants will be offering specials, the Ada Rotary Club is having a chicken barbecue fundraiser and more.
Bring lawn chairs, enjoy dinner, visit the businesses, listen and dance to music and spend time in Ada with friends and family.
