ONU Senior Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) has been named First Team Academic All-America for 2023-24 by the College Sports Communicators.

BLUFFTON __ The Ada Gators summer swim team surged two spots after opening day to finish sixth at the 2024 West Ohio Aquatic League championship meet in Bluffton Friday and Saturday, July 12-13.

Eight teams competed at the two-day event.

“We are immensely proud of all of our swimmers' accomplishments this season, and were excited to see many continue to drop time even at championships,” said the Gator coaching staff.

Ada standout swimmer Lily Baumgartner touched first in a pair of individual races on day one, then added another victory Saturday to help pace the Gators.

Gator boys edged by Wapak in makeup swim meet

ADA __ The Ada Gators summer swim team hosted its final West Ohio Aquatic League meet of the regular season with a makeup vs. Wapakoneta on Monday, July 1, at the municipal pool.

The visiting Waves edged the Gator boys by a score of 146-143 in their dual meet. Meanwhile, the Wapak females defeated the Gator girls, 260-115.

Wapakoneta won the combined boys/girls team meet, 406-258. 

The Gator boys fell to 1-6 with the loss, while the Ada girls are 0-7 in dual meets.

Gator brothers Lincoln Harriger (boys 13-14) and Landry Harriger (11-12) each touched first in five races.
