The Ohio Northern women's basketball program begins a two-game Ohio Athletic Conference home stand Wednesday evening as the Polar Bears welcome in the Wilmington Quakers. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ONU enters the contest sporting a 5-1 overall record and an 0-1 mark in the OAC.

Senior left tackle Sam Shook (New Philadelphia) and senior receiver Chad Rex(Brandenton, Fla.) were named All-North Region in football by D3football.com.

Shook was named to the First Team and Rex was a Third Team honoree.

Shook will now advance to the D3football.com All-America ballot.

Shook was also named the Ohio Athletic Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year, First Team All-OAC and Academic All-Conference this season.

Junior swimmer Lauren Halle has been named the OAC Women's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week. The three-time OAC champion claimed an individual event title in the 400-yard individual medley at the Wooster Invitational where the women's program to a sixth-place finish in an 11-team field. 

Ohio Northern freshman Jeremy Adams has been tabbed the OAC Men's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week. The first-year swimmer captured an individual event title in the 200-yard breast guiding the Polar Bears to a third-place finish in a 10-team field. Adams posted the quickest time among the 30  individuals in the event.

12 schools from 4 states competed in 38th annual ONU invite

Wrestlers from 12 schools in four states competed in the 38th annual Wrestling Invitational from 9 a.m. until late afternoon on Saturday at the ONU Sports Center.

The fieldhouse was completely covered with mats as multiple matches took place simultaneously throughout the day during the double-elimination event.

Let’s admit it, six hours of watching a wrestling tournament is a long time.

Sometimes you sit on a chair, sometimes the chair sits on you. Aadyn Gibson, 9, was at the ONU Wrestling Invitational at the ONU Sports Center on Saturday to watch brother Chase wrestle for ONU.

ADA - The Ada wrestling team began its season by competing in the annual six-team Cory-Rawson Invitational dual meet Saturday.

The rebuilding Bulldog team went 0-5 on the day. Ada junior Reece Evans won three matches, all by pin, in the 160 lbs. division.

Freshman Jeremy Cameron (113) won two matches and another by forfeit in his varsity debut.

Junior Noah Arnett recorded two pin wins and added a third victory via forfeit in the heavyweight bracket.

Senior Tyler Onions added two wins at 170, one by decision and another by forfeit.
