ADA - After a pair of rebuilding seasons, the Ada boys basketball team has the skill and experience inside to surprise fans this winter under third-year head coach Dre White.

Ada finished 4-19 overall and 2-6 in Northwest Conference play in 2017-18. But three starters and six lettermen return to help the Bulldogs get back to .500 or better this winter, led by honorable mention 6-6 senior post Connor Frazier.

"We have 65 percent of our scoring and 60 percent of our rebounding back this year," said White. "I am definitely excited about this season. We have improved chemistry and more experienced depth.

RAWSON - Host Cory-Rawson outscored Ada 24-9 in the second half to spoil the Bulldog girls basketball season opener in the debut of new head coach Morgan Bass by a 42-20 count Tuesday night.

Ada trailed just 18-11 at halftime, but C-R's pressing defense helped the Hornets reel off a 16-2 third quarter that put the game out of reach with a 21-point cushion.

"We came out and it got away from us in the second half," said Bass. "We struggled to handle pressure and didn't get as many looks at the basket due to turnovers."
