DELPHOS - Three Ada girls received All-Northwest Conference softball notice in voting by the league coaches Monday night at Delphos.
Ada senior outfielder Alexis Ennis was named second team all-league, while senior infielder Raina England and sophomore pitcher Leona Dalton received honorable mention notice.
Ennis played a strong center field for Ada this spring. The speedster batted leadoff and hit .373. A good contact hitter, she put the ball in play during 80 of her 85 plate appearances.
Ennis knocked out 31 hits and had a 16-game hitting streak. She started every game and played well on defense.
In ONU's Men's Track & Field, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) named Ian McVey, Andrew Buderer, Luke Shellhaas All-Great Lakes Region for 2019 season.
From the Women's Track & Field team, the USTFCCCA awarded Avery Ewing and Maggie Krause All-Great Lakes Region honors for 2019 season.
To be recognized, a student-athlete must finish among the top-five individual or top-three relay performances in an event on their respective NCAA Division III regional performance list. Further details follow:
Sophomore Vinh Thai (Galloway/St. Charles) was dubbed the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Year while four individuals garnered All-OAC honors for the 2018-19 men's tennis season, the league office announced Wednesday morning.
Thai and freshman Noah Elliott (Hilliard/Davidson) both received top-billing from the league's head coaches, earning First-Team All-OAC honors this season. In addition, sophomore Hoang Do (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) registered Second-Team All-OAC honors, and freshman Zach Beaschler (Ada) was named to the Honorable Mention squad.
Three Ohio Northern student-athletes have received qualifying bids to the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships to be held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio from Thursday, May 23 to Saturday, May 25.

Host Ada lost 4-1 to Columbus Grove in a Northwest Conference baseball makeup contest on a warm Saturday to conclude the 2019 season.
The purple and gold finished 8-13 overall and 1-7 in the NWC after the defeat. Meanwhile, CG improved to 15-7 and ended up 6-2 in league play after the win, good for sole possession of third place.
The game was scoreless over the first three innings as hurlers Phillip Coulson and Nick Woods hooked up in a pitcher's duel.
CG scored single runs in each of the next three innings to build a 3-0 lead. Ada senior Connor Frazier relieved Coulson in the sixth and hurled the last two frames.

The Ada tennis team lost a tough match to state power Ottawa Hills 4-1 in the regional semifinals of the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association tournament Friday at the Ohio Northern University courts.
The Bulldogs end their season 14-5 with the defeat, as they advanced one round further in the OTCA tourney than last year. They set a boys program record for single-season wins.
The Green Bears (11-1) move on to face state-ranked Lexington in the Div. II OTCA northwest region finals.
