MARION - The Ada girls soccer team beat Marion Harding 2-0 in a rain-shortened road battle Saturday morning.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 2-1 with the victory.
Junior Katie Butterfield put Ada on top early when she re-directed a crossing pass from classmate Ella Poling into the back of the net.
Ada stretched their lead to 2-0 late in the first half when a through ball from freshman Hailey Robirds assisted Butterfield on her second score.
"We kept the ball on our offensive end most of the game," said Bulldog head coach Doug Poling. "Harding was able to make a few runs, but was unable to get many shots on frame."
Ada sophomore quarterback Brandon Hull (#15) threw
for 162 yards and rushed for 87 more yards with two TDs in the 30-16
Bulldog win over rival USV Friday in the season opener.
USV quarterback Quinn Sanders threw for 217 yards in their 30-16
loss at Ada Friday in the opener.

ADA - After serving as an assistant for a decade on the Bulldog football staff, Ada graduate Shawn Christopher saw a dream realized when he was named the new Bulldog head varsity football coach last May.
"It is a dream come true to coach your hometown team, a special thing that people don't get to do very often," said Christopher after he was hired.
The 2004 Ada grad has been associated with the program for most of the past two decades as a player and assistant, and has been a part of much gridiron success over the past dozen seasons.
COLDWATER - The Ada volleyball team lost a tough four-set match at powerful Coldwater Thursday evening.
The defeat dropped the Lady Bulldog record to 3-2.
Coldwater won the first set 25-14 before Ada tied it one set apiece with a 25-23 win in game two. But the hosts then won the final two sets by identical 25-19 scores.
"The girls played extremely well and worked hard throughout the match," said Ada head coach Kyleigh Tabor. "This is the first year we have taken a set from Coldwater, so I’m very proud of the girls.
"We are continuing to improve as a team and are working hard to take care of the ball on our side of the court."
