ONU senior National Champion Matt Molinaro (Sterling Heights, Mich./DeLaSalle) and junior All-American Ian McVey (Stow/Munroe Falls) have each earned Div. III United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association honors for the 2018 outdoor track and field season.
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, Great Lakes, Mideast, Midwest, New England, South/Southeast, West – match those used during the cross country and indoor track & field season.
The Ada High School softball team will play Tinora in the regional semi final at 5 p.m. Wednesday May 23, at the Marathon Diamonds, Findlay. All tickets are $7 with no presale, according to Ken Jochims, Ada HS athletic director.
The Ada High School baccalaureate service will take place at 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 23. This is a change from the original time of 7 p.m. in order for the girls' softball team to have time to return to Ada after their softball tournament game.
Seven athletes from the Ohio Northern men's and women's track and field teams will represent Ohio Northern at the 2018 NCAA Div. III Outdoor National Championships hosted by the University of Wis.-La Crosse from May 24-26.

BOWLING GREEN - Ada senior tennis ace Zach Beaschler rolled over four oppnents to win the Div. II district tournament in Bowling Green Saturday and Wednesday.
With the dominating victories, Beaschler also clinched one of the four top seeds and his third straight berth in the 16-player state tournament at Mason May 25-26.
Beaschler improved his season record to 24-0 with four straight-set wins at the district tournament. He won 48 of 57 games he played (8-0 in sets), and never lost more than three games in any set.

Ada raced to an early 3-0 lead and went on to decisively defeat league rival Columbus Grove 8-2 and win the Div. IV Elida district softball championship Saturday.
The historic win sealed the first regional berth in the history of the Ada softball program.
The second-seeded purple and gold improved to 17-8 with the win, while Grove ended their season at 18-5 with the defeat.
Ada scored three runs in the top of the first inning against former teammate and CG hurler Teyah Sautter, and never trailed. Senior shortstop Olivia Alexander led the game off by stroking a double down the left field line.
