For the third time this season, junior Ryan Bruns (Chickasaw/Marion Local) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
The junior averaged 27.5 points per game in ONU's 2-0 week that featured victories over Baldwin Wallace and Muskingum.
Bruns posted 29 points and six rebounds in the overtime win over Baldwin Wallace and followed that performance up with a 28-point and 14-rebound effort in an 82-69 win at Muskingum.
WAPAKONETA - The Ada girls basketball team received a first round bye and was seeded 10th out of 11 teams at the Allen East/Coldwater super sectional drawings held Sunday at Wapakoneta.
The Lady Bulldog cagers (4-14) will face second-seeded Fort Recovery (15-3) Saturday, February 24 at 8 p.m. at Allen East.
Ada and the Lady Indians both got first round byes for the five-team half of the sectional at AE.
The Ada/FR winner advances to the Wapakoneta district.

Ada senior Chase Sumner won the 145 lbs. individual league title, repeated as the league's top grappler and the Bulldog wrestling team finished fourth at the eight-team Northwest Conference championship meet Saturday in Ada.
Sumner was voted the NWC Most Valuable Wrestler by the coaches for the second straight year. Mike Abbey of league champion Allen East was voted NWC Coach of the Year.
It was the first time Ada has hosted the NWC wrestling title event. Defending title-holder AE repeated as champion with 233.5 points.
ONU junior Ian McVey (Stow/Munroe Falls) and sophomore Jared Butcher(Mechanicsburg) and posted first place finishes to lead the No. 27-ranked Ohio Northern men's track and field team to a third place finish at the annual Joe Banks Invitational on Saturdayafternoon at the King-Horn Fieldhouse.
The Polar Bears (12-4 overall) finished third of 13 teams in the meet with 79 points.
McVey and Butcher would each claim a first place finish in the meet to lead the way for Northern.
ONU senior Amy Bullimore (Morrow/Little Miami) recorded her 13th double-double of the season to lead the Ohio Northern women's basketball team to a 70-36 victory over visiting Muskingum at the ONU Sports Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears improve to 19-2 overall and remain atop the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 13-1 record, while the Muskies drop to 6-15, 2-12.
Bullimore paced the Polar Bear offense with a game-best 17 points and also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
