Seven members of the Ohio Northern men's soccer team have been dubbed Academic All-OAC honorees for the 2017 season.
Seniors Chris Garbig (Wilder, Ky./Highlands), Ben Conkin (Maumee/Anthony Wayne), Cory Lains (Zionsville, Ind.) and Mac Tompkins (Fairview, Pa.), and sophomores Luke Fickenworth (Cincinnati/Anderson), Jimmy Walkinshaw (Plymouth, Mich./Canton), and Noah Bachwitz (Buffalo, N.Y./Williamsville North) all earned the honor.
The Ohio Northern volleyball team saw six members named to the Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference teams in 2017.
Senior Megan Nieszala (Lambertville, Mich./St. Marys Catholic Central), junior Josie Andres (Sunman, Ind./East Central), and sophomores Madison Broering (Saint Henry), McKenna Hostetler (Plain City/Alder), Chelsea Huppert (Bremen, Ind.) and Kristin Langston (Versailles) all earned the honor for the Polar Bears.

While the Ohio Northern women's soccer team enjoys success on the field during its current historic NCAA Tournament run, the Polar Bears have also excelled in the classroom as three athletes were named Academic All-OAC for the 2017 season.
Senior Anna Niemeyer (Loveland), junior Sarah Puntel (Strongsville), and sophomore Haley Moses (Mason) all earned the honor for ONU.
The award winners must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50.
