ADA — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team posted its 13th consecutive winning season in 2016 under 13th-year head coach Mark Batman.

The Polar Bears posted a 15-4-0 record and went 8-1-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while winning the OAC Regular Season title and advancing to the OAC Tournament Championship finals for the second consecutive season.

This was the 11th consecutive season Ohio Northern has qualified for the OAC Tournament, and 12th OAC Championship appearance.

MAUMEE - The Ada girls basketball team captured its second consecutive game with a convincing 58-33 road victory at Maumee Valley Country Day Tuesday evening.

The purple and gold evened their record at 3-3 overall with the non-league win. The Lady Bulldogs also improved to 2-2 on the road this season.

Ada junior Maddie Gossard led four Bulldogs in double figures with 14 points.

Ada methodically pulled away in the second half to post the win.

Senior guard Haley Wyss tallied 13 points while senior backcourt mate Alyssa Vore netted 10 points and dished out eight assists. Junior guard Anney Archer scored 10 points as well.

LIMA - The Ada boys swim team finished a solid seventh out of 19 teams at the annual Holiday Invitational held in the Lima YMCA on Tuesday.

The Bulldog boys finished with 120 points. Celina won the boys team crown with 349 points, followed by Shawnee with 300.

Ottawa-Glandorf edged Celina 292-284 to win the girls team title.

Earned from Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association

The Ohio Northern women's soccer team saw five members earn Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association Academic All-Ohio honors for the 2016 season.

Senior Shelby Stephens (Cypress, Tex./Cypress Woods) was named OCSA First Team Academic All-Ohio, while seniors Missy Ward (Columbus/Westerville North) and Haley Napier (Beavercreek) and juniors Hannah Reich(Howell, Mich.) and Anna Niemeyer (Loveland) each earned OCSA Second Team Academic All-Ohio accolades.

Stephens, a Marketing major from Cypress, Tex., earned her second consecutive OCSA First Team All-Ohio honor.

Stephens led the team and ranked fifth in the OAC with nine goals.

The Ohio Northern women's tennis team is set to open the 2016-17 Winter and Spring portion of its schedule as they travel to Hamilton to take on Div. 1-foe Miami (Ohio) on Feb. 26 at 6 pm.

Northern will look to compete for its fifth Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season Title and fourth OAC Tournament Championship in the last seven years under 16th-year head coach Scott Wills.

After opening with Miami (Ohio), the Polar Bears will travel to Hilton Head, S.C., Mar. 5-7 for their annual Spring Break trip.

Ada's biggest lead was 29-16

ADA - The Ada girls basketball team scored the last six points of the game to break a tie and post a hard-earned 52-46 non-conference win over visiting Van Buren Tuesday evening.

The purple and gold improved to 2-3 as they snapped a three-game losing skid, while the Lady Black Knights dropped to 2-4 with the defeat.

Ada senior Haley Wyss broke a 46-46 deadlock with a free throw, then scored a layup off her own miss after a crucial Teara Coulson offensive rebound to provide a three-point bulge with 1:38 remaining.
