ADA — Ohio Northern had five players score in double figures and shot 59 percent from the floor in a 101-91 victory over No. 13-ranked Marietta on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears (6-7 overall, 4-2 Ohio Athletic Conference) got 19 points each from seniors Devon Allen (Lima/Senior), Konnor Baker (Ada) and Aron Thress (Lancaster/Amanda-Clearcreek).

Junior Joey DiOrio (Columbus/Watterson) had a double-double in his first career start with 13 points and a career-high 10 rebounds and junior Nate Burger (Dayton/Alter) added 17 points for ONU.

MARIETTA — Senior Britt Lauck (Lima/Shawnee) tied her career-high with 21 points, leading No. 10-ranked Ohio Northern to a 79-65 Ohio Athletic Conference women's basketball victory at Marietta on Saturday at Ban Johnson Fieldhouse.

The Polar Bears remain undefeated at 13-0 overall and stay atop the OAC with a 6-0 league record, while the Pioneers fall to 7-6, 1-5.

Junior Amy Bullimore (Morrow/Little Miami) and freshman Emily Mescher (Maria Stein/Marion Local) each added 14 points each for ONU.

Northern used a 10-0 run at the end of the first quarter and the beginning of the second quarter to take the lead for good at 22-12 with 7:06 left in the half.

WAYNESBURG, Pa. — Junior Evan Hickey (Blanchester/Wilmington) and freshman Nate Barcaskey (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) each place second in their weight class to lead the No. 25-ranked Ohio Nortghern wrestling team to a second place finish at the 11-team Waynesburg (pa.) Invitational on Saturday at the Marisa Fieldhouse.

Hickey was second at 197 pounds and Barcaskey was second at heavyweight as each wrestler posted a 3-1 record on the day.

In all, 11 Polar Bears placed in the top six of their respective weight classes.

Senior Kyler Deeter (Covington) had a team-best 4-1 record and placed third at 174 pounds.

NEW KNOXVILLE - The Ada boys basketball team fell 55-39 at New Knoxville Saturday night in a non-league bout.

Their third road defeat in five days dropped the Bulldog cagers to 2-6. Meanwhile, NK evened its mark at 4-4 with the victory.

Junior Ethan Swaney led the Bulldogs with a career-high 14 points. Senior Jordan Bailey contributed 10 points.

NK methodically ground out the victory, winning each quarter. The Rangers knocked down 21 free throws in 34 tries, including 14 of 19 in the fourth quarter.

PORTLAND, Ind. - The Ada boys swim team finished a solid fifth out of 13 teams at the Jay County Invitational in northeast Indiana Saturday.

The Lady Bulldogs came in 13th in their 15-team field.
Oak Hill won both the boys and girls team titles with 439 points on each side. The Bulldog boys team totaled 205 points.
