LONG BEACH, Cal. — Junior Matt Molinaro(Sterling Heights, Mich./DeLaSalle) posted a strong race in the 800-meter run on Saturday afternoon as he competed in the Beach Invitational in Long Beach, Cal. 

The junior finished third overall in the event in 1:48.92 and ran the fastest time nationally among Div. III athletes.

Molinaro posted a new personal best in the event and narrowly missed breaking a 9-year old school record.

DELAWARE — Senior Kase Schalois (Van Wert) and junior Samuel Boyd (Killbuck/West Holmes) led the Ohio Northern men's outdoor track and field team to a fourth place finish at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.

The Polar Bears scored 68 points and improve to 51-14 overall.

Schalois finished first in the 5,000-meter run in 15:09.14 to lead Northern.

Boyd won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:36.03 and won beat the rest of the field by nearly eight seconds.

LONG BEACH, Cal. — Junior Emily Richards(Delaware/Hayes) followed up her historic performance at the Mt. Sac Relays with a first place finish in the 1,500-meter run at the Beach Invitational in Long Beach, Cal. on Saturday afternoon.

The junior set the school record in the event and ran the sixth fastest time in Div. III history, finishing first in 4:21.19.

Richards currently owns the best time nationally among Div. III athletes.

Jess Kodiak has been named an assistant women's soccer coach at Ohio Northern.

She joins the Polar Bears after serving as a Graduate Assistant for the Ohio University women's soccer team, while getting her Master's Degree in Coaching Education.

Prior to her stint at OU, Kodiak served as a Volunteer Assistant at Miami (Ohio) University for one year.

A 2013 graduate of Miami (Ohio) University, Kodiak earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business with a focus on supply chain management.

The Naperville, Ill. native was a standout student-athlete on the Redhawks soccer team as she was a 4-year member of the team.

BEREA -- The Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team dropped an 18-1 decision at league-leading Baldwin Wallace on Friday afternoon at Finnie Stadium.

The Polar Bears fall to 3-10 overall and are 2-3 in Ohio Athletic Conference action, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 11-2, 6-0.

MASON -- The Ohio Northern women's tennis team swept all nine courts and wrapped up its play in the OAC Tennis Fest with a 9-0 victory over Marietta on Saturday at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.

The Polar Bears improve to 17-4 overall and are 4-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the Pioneers fall to 1-16, 1-5.

Ada's own Mackenzie Wills  won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Mackenzie, a freshman, and Catherine Curry won doubles 8-0.
