Ada High School athletic director, Ken Jochims, announced two game time changes:
• The start time for our week three varsity football game @at Lima Central Catholic has been changed from a 7 p.m. start to 4:30 p.m. (Saturday, Sept. 10)

• OurAug. 20 tri-match against Cory-Rawson and Waynesfield originally scheduled for home has been moved to Wayensfield. Still a 10 a.m. start.

 

The Northwest Ohio Lunachix 18U fast pitch travel softball team will hold tryouts soon.

Tryouts are at 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 14, in the Bluffton village park on the County Line Road.

The Ohio Northern football team was selected to finish third in both the coaches poll and media poll at the 2016 Ohio Athletic Conference Football Media Day on Tuesday afternoon at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

ONU received 67 points and one first place vote in the coaches poll to finish third and 244 points in the media poll to finish third.

Mount Union was tabbed as the preseason favorite by both the media and coaches, collecting all 30 first place media votes and nine first place votes from the coaches.

The Ohio Northern women's track and field team and sophomore Emily Richards and senior Sarah Ballmer have earned USTFCCCA DIII All-Academic accolades for the 2015-16 seasons.

The women's track team was named a DIII All-Academic Team after posting a cumulative GPA of 3.26. 

Northern was among 175 schools across the country in the running for the DIII Scholar Team of the Year.

To qualify for the award the team must finish highly at the national championships and have a cumulative team GPA of 3.10.

The Ohio Northern football team is ranked No. 22 in the 2016 D3football.com preseason poll.

In June, the Polar Bears were ranked No. 10 in the 2016 Sporting News College Football magazine preseason poll and No. 11 in the Lindy's Sports College Football preview magazine preseason poll.

This marks the 11th time in the last 13 seasons that the Polar Bears have been ranked in a national poll.

Northern finished the season ranked No. 19 in the final D3football.com poll.

The Polar Bears went 9-3 overall, tied for second in the OAC with a 7-2 mark and advanced to the second round of the NCAA III Playoffs in 2015 under 12th-year head coach Dean Paul.
