Joey Frank becomes all-time overall and doubles wins leader in the OAC tournament quarterfinals

Senior Joey Frank became Ohio Northern's overall and doubles wins leader as the top seeded Ohio Northern men's tennis team defeated No. 8-seed Wilmington by a 5-0 score in the OAC Tournament Quarterfinals on Tuesday afternoon at the University Courts.

The Polar Bears are now 16-4 on the season, while the Quakers end their season at 2-12.

Northern will now play either No. 4-seed Mount Union or No. 5-seed John Carroll on Friday afternoon at 1 pm at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, in the OAC Tournament Semifinals.

Frank now has an overall record of 148-58 and has a doubles record of 76-30.

1978 Ada HS girls bball team; Stretch Roberson inducted into Hardin Sports Hall

Ada is well represented in this year's Hardin County Sports Hall of Fame induction. Arden "Stretch" Roberson will be inducted as will the 1978 Ada High School girls' basketball team, winner of a state basketball title.

The third annual Hardin County Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be Saturday, May 18, at Upper Scioto Valley High School, dinner will served at 6 p.m.

This year's inductees are Thad Gardner, Arden "Stretch" Roberson, Beth Elwood, Tony Osbun, Pete Brunow, and Lea Ann (Mullins) Carroll.

Men's tennis wins OAC regular season title with 9-0 sweep of Muskingum

The Ohio Northern men's tennis team clinched the Ohio Athletic Conference regular season title outright with a 9-0 win against Muskingum on Saturday afternoon at University Courts.

The Polar Bears finish the regular season 15-4 overall and 9-0 in the OAC, while the Muskies fall to 0-11, 0-9.

This is the Polar Bears' third OAC regular season title in last four years and their fifth title in the last seven years.

Ohio Northern dominated Muskingum, winning all nine matches without losing a game.

Lauren Rife picks up 100th career win to lead women's tennis to 9-0 win over Muskingum

Senior Lauren Rife became the 10th player in Ohio Northern women's tennis history to win 100 matches, as the Ohio Northern women's tennis team clinched the OAC regular season title outright with a 9-0 win over Muskingum on Saturday afternoon at the University Courts.

The Polar Bears are now 23-4 on the season and 9-0 in OAC play. The Muskies fall to 1-8, 1-8.

This is the third straight OAC regular season title for ONU.

Northern will also be the top seed in the OAC Tournament and host Muskingum on Wednesday at 3:30 pm.

Rife teamed with freshman Christina Corbean to win 8-0 at No. 2 doubles.

The guessing...and the waiting is over. Ada's Zac Dysert is a Denver Bronco.

The Denver Broncos closed out their 2013 NFL Draft by selecting Ada native and Miami University quarterback Zac Dysert in the seventh round.

Dysert was one of the players that came to Dove Valley for a pre-draft visit, Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway acknowledged earlier this week.

Women's tennis clinches share of OAC regular season title with 9-0 win over Capital

The Ohio Northern women's tennis clinched clinched a share of the OAC regular season championship with a 9-0 victory at Capital on Tuesday afternoon at the Capital Tennis Courts.

The Polar Bears are now 22-4 on the season and 8-0 in OAC play, while the Crusaders fall to 7-10, 4-4.

Northern can clinch its third consecutive OAC regular season title and the top seed in the OAC tournament outright, with a win over Muskingum on Saturday at the University Courts at 1 pm.

The Polar Bears have all ready clinched a home match in the OAC tournament quarterfinals that will be played Wednesday, May 1, at 3:30 pm.
