Ohio Northern rallied from a 16-0 halftime deficit to post a 27-22 victory at Franklin (Ind.) in the First Round of the NCAA III Football Playoffs on a wet and snowy Saturday afternoon at Faught Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 9-2 on the season and advance to the Second Round next Saturday, while the Grizzlies end their season with an 8-3 record.
Senior Justin Magazine ran 36 times for 153 yards and two touchdowns and sophomore Ricardo Johnson completed 13-of-17 passes for 190 yards and a TD to lead Ohio Northern.
Franklin was led by Chase Burton, who completed 21-of-44 passes for 290 yards and two TDs.
Bluffton Family Recreation offers two performance-training programs of eight sessions each in December lead by Jared Krout, BFR sports coordinator.
A Developmental Program, for youth ages 12 to 14, offers an introduction to performance training and adds a sport-specific component. Sessions are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Dec. 1 to Dec. 24.
A Prep Program, for youth ages 15 to 18, offers a high-performance training program covering all aspects of athletic performance. Sessions are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Dec. 1 to Dec. 24.
The Ohio Northern women's basketball program returns a veteran squad for the 2015-16 season. Last season the Polar Bears went 20-6 and 16-2 in the OAC, claiming the OAC regular season crown.
Northern graduated four seniors from last year's team that made its 13th consecutive OAC Tournament appearance under head coach Michele Durand.
The Polar Bears welcome back 11 letter winners, all of whom saw considerable time a season ago.

Football receives at large bid will take on Franklin (Ind.) in the opening round of the NCAA Playoffs

The Ohio Northern football team receives an at large bid to the 2015 NCAA III Playoffs and will be traveling to Franklin (Ind.) where they will be taking on the Grizzles in the first round of the Playoffs.
Ohio Northern enters the Playoffs 8-2 overall and 7-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, finishing second of the ten team league.
This is the Polar Bears first appearance in the NCAA III Tournament since the 2010 season.
Senior Justin Magazine tied a school record with six rushing touchdowns and senior Devon Price became ONU's all-time career receiving yardage leader as Ohio Northern defeated Otterbein 42-10 on Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears conclude their regular season 8-2 overall and 7-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Cardinals finishes their season 4-6, 4-5.
With the victory, the Polar Bears finish tied for 2nd of 10 teams in the OAC and claim its 19th upper division OAC finish in the last 20 years.
