February 1937 Huber Hardware and Furniture was selling Farmall tractors, Root-King Lumber was selling Case tractors, and Crouse brothers was selling Oliver’s.
February 1937 the U.S. Government announced that a new post office would be erected on the corner of South Main Street and West Lincoln Avenue. The cost is estimated at $70,000. The lot will be 92x129 feet and the cost of the lot was set at $7,000. This will cause the removal of three buildings; the Mrs. Mae Dirmeyer residence; the Harry Mohler floral shop and residence; and the building on West Lincoln Avenue occupied by the Amstutz hatchery.
