May 1929 graduates of Ada High School organized an alumni association with Frank Allen, president, and Freda Beuchert, secretary.
July 1929 Grover Carey was named fire chief for the third year. Other officers were Ed Firestone, assistant chief; Raymond Johnson, secretary; Howard Mauk, assistant secretary; Norman Ash, treasurer. Trustees, James Wallick, Ed Firestone and Art Robnolte. Chet Houser, chemical foreman; George Binkley, assistant; Howard Mauk, foreman of hose; Harold Neu, assistant; Jack Boutwell and James Wallick, drivers; police, Eldon Hunsicker and Harold Lantz.
August 1929 the first permanent shelter house was built at Memorial park.
