Village Voice offers some worthwhile spring clean up information
Your assistance in keeping Ada beautiful is appreciated!
Now that the weather has finally agreed with the calendar that it is indeed spring, many residents are ready to start cleaning! That sort of cleaning may result in a large variety, and quantity of unwanted material.
While the Village will not be providing a spring clean up day this year, there are a few tips the Village would like to offer to residents and property owners:
- Village-contract refuse collection through Waste Management covers many types of materials. Bulk item collection is available, but residents do need to contact the Water Office no later than Monday of each week for Tuesday’s pick up. Reported bulk items may be placed in the tree lawn area no earlier than the weekend immediately prior to Tuesday’s pick up.
- Yard Waste Collection is also available through Waste Management. Items may be placed in refuse totes for collection. If residents have tree limbs, they must be bundled in 4 foot lengths, are no more than 2 feet in diameter and weigh no more than 40 pounds.
- Remodeling and construction materials are not picked up as part of the Waste Management collection. Residents and property owners must make their own arrangements for collection of these items.
- The Village offers Brush Chipping services on the first Monday of each month, March through October. Specifications and fees are available in the Water Office, and will also be available in future editions of The Village Voice.
If residents and property owners are not sure if the items being placed for collection are eligible for collection, please contact the Ada Water Office PRIOR to placing the items in the tree lawn areas. Residents and property owners may be cited for ineligible items left in tree lawn areas, so we encourage you to check before you put items out that may not be eligible.
The annual Waste Management refuse program brochures are also available in the Water Office for pick up. Further details about collection items may be found in the brochure.
The Village thanks you for taking pride in the appearance of your property and our community. Together, we can keep Ada looking beautiful!
