Digital speed signs give Ada drivers feedback
Two new digital speed signs are giving Ada drivers feedback on whether they are within the speed limit.
Currently installed on eastbound Lima Avenue and westbound Lincoln Avenue, the signs also provide data for the Ada Police Department. Police Chief Michael Harnishfeger reported to the Ada Council on July 19 that the signs will be put on "stealth mode" in the coming days to discover how fast drivers are going without the digital reminder.
Currently the signs will tell you how many miles per hour you are going, if that is "too fast" or give you a thumbs up if you are within the speed limit.
The solar powered signs are posted above existing speed limit signs and can be moved to different locations. Harnishfeger thanked the village for assistance installing the signs.
The signs are expected to improve speed limit adherence by about 25 percent.
