Summary of August 16 Council Meeting

All members of the Ada Village Council, the mayor, and village administrators were present for the August 16 regular meeting on the second floor of the Ada Municipal Building.

Mayor Dave Retterer conducted the meeting, which included the approval of the minutes of August 9 and the payment of bills. (Minutes and agenda are on the village website HERE.)

MAYOR'S COMMENTS
The mayor remarked that all reports to him on the August 13 Farmers & Merchants Picnic have been very positive. (Jeff Oestreich noted that the parade was likely the largest ever.) Retterer also noted that the park was in great shape the next day for a large family reunion.

The mayor also shared details regarding the Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival, including the news that the Pro Football Hall of Fame will bring a goal kick simulator. Further announcements by the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce are expected on August 17.

Retterer closed by saying that bringing off these events is a great deal of work and that we have many dedicated groups and individuals to thank.

ORDINANCES
Council passed the first reading of an ordinance to vacate an east-west alley to the east of the Wilson Sporting Goods factory. The mayor noted that there is a sign for the “Charles Moore Turn,” which can be mistaken for part of the Wilson parking lot.
