Ada Schools host 2022 "Music Feast" on November 12

- Ada's Varsity Singers perform at 2:45 p.m.
For over 40 years, the Ada Schools have been hosting Music Feast, a competition for show choirs. The event started with Lynn Knoble in the ‘70s and has grown to be one of the "kick off" show choir competitions in Ohio. It is a “music feast” for the ears and, with the help of the Ada Music Boosters, feeds all the performers.
On Saturday, November 12, the 2022 edition will include daytime performances from 9:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., with the Ada Varsity Singers appearing at 2:45 p.m. Daytime awards will be presented at 4:00 p.m.
In the evening, final performances will take place from 6:00-9:15 p.m., ending with awards. (Schedule attached)
Show choirs are musical ensembles that combine choral singing with choreographed dancing. Ada vocal music teacher Scott Henning explains that show choirs feature “high school students musically gifted with good voices, dance ability. They essentially put on a mini musical.”
This year's Music Feast will host 8 schools and 11 ensembles, including Ada's own Varsity Singers.
The Ada group includes 29 singers and dancers backed up by "The Experience,” an 11-piece combo band. Henning notes, “We put on a show with the help of our six-person crew, and together we have been working to create this year's show, "To Paris, With Love," a joyful set of songs about a trip to Paris.”
Songs in “To Paris, With Love”
- Bonjour, Paris!
- Rather Be
- La Vie en Rose
- Les Champs Elysées
- Paris Holds the Key To Your Heart
- Hallucinate
The Ada High School Varsity Singers will perform under the direction of Scott Henning and Carter Bivens with choreography by Oshra and Sam Gadkar.
