Letter: ONU Observatory events begin September 19

By Jason Pinkney
Professor of Physics and Astronomy

I'm pleased to announce five free public events at the ONU Observatory this fall. I post blurbs about the events during the days leading up to them on this Public Events web page: https://jpastro.net/astro/publicevents.html

You will also see a link to a printer friendly version of the schedule, which has a white background.

Visitors are free to drop by anytime within the allotted two hours (they don't need to stay the whole time).  I will add a "CANCELLED" note in red by 2 p.m. on the day of the event if it looks like the sky will be too cloudy that night. Maps to the observatory are shown on the Observatory web page: https://jpastro.net/astro/ONUObservatory.html

The first event is coming up soon, Friday, Sept 19.  It is called "Autumnal Equinox Star Party" and it celebrates the upcoming start of Fall on September 22.  Saturn, Neptune, and deep sky objects will be the main targets of our telescopes. The weather forecast is promising for Friday!  I've written a blurb about it  on https://jpastro.net/astro/publicevents.html.

Hopefully, you can spread the word about this and future public events at ONU Observatory, 800 W Lincoln Ave.
