Irene Smith was retired from Wilson Sporting Goods
Irene Smith, age 89, died at 12:44 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Kenton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Kenton.
She was born on February 21, 1924 in Myrtle, Kentucky, to R.D. & Sarah (Sparks) Hall and they preceded her in death. Irene first married Glenn Ball on December 23, 1941, and he died June 30, 1944. She then married James Mullins on April 20, 1946, and he died July 20, 1963. She married Pearlie Conley on February 12, 1965, and he died June 23, 1967. She then married Rev. Franklin D. Smith on March 14, 1975, and he died August 22, 2003.
Irene was formerly a member of Quickstep Pentecostal Church of God, Alger, and attended the Living Water Apostolic Church, Kenton. Irene retired from Wilson Sporting Goods, Ada, after 28 years, where she was a sewer.
Surviving are 2 sons; Dean (Shari) Conley of Alger & James (Vicky) Mullins of Alger; 3 daughters, Glenda (Chet) Shobe of Ada, Donna (Sam) Rowe of Dola, & Helen (Rick) Miller of Dunkirk; a step-daughter, Brenda Smith of Jackson, MI; a brother, Ed Hall of McGuffey; 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, & 8 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Ann Mullins; 2 brothers, Lonnie & Woodrow Hall; and 4 sisters, Hazel Reed, AnnaBelle Hollon, Jean Hollon, & Addlene Bayes.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Pastor Robert Dye officiating.
Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 16, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hardin County Hospice.
