Drug take back day on Saturday
Joyce Van Atta hands Harold Friesner a package of unwanted prescription drugs during Drug Take Back Day on Saturday. Law enforcement officers and auxiliary police hold the annual day to keep old and expired drugs out of the sanitary sewer system since some never fully dissolve. People hand them pills as old as 20 years. The special day has gone from statewide to a national effort when thousands of pounds of pills and tables are given to be properly disposed of. Ada was one of four locations in the county for Drug Take Back Day.
