Breakfast is served

The Alger Memorial Festival Committee is sponsoring a country-style breakfast on Saturday,March 3, from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m. Serving biscuits, sausage gravy, hash-browns, scrambled eggs, fried apples, sausage patties and beverage.

Suggested donation is $7.00. All-you-can-eat (on premises only). Carry out is available,

Alger Library to show “Wonder”

The free monthly movies at the Alger Public Library have been moved to the fourth Friday of the month.

 

“Wonder,” rated PG, will be shown at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23. The two-hour movie is based on the book by the same name. Snacks will be available.

Cornhole tourney slated at VFW

The public is invited to participate in a Cornhole Tournament at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb.  17 at the Ada VFW Post 9381, 2147 SR 235. Registration will begin at noon.  

 

The cost is $20 per team of two, and it will be a double-elimination tournament.

 

Cash prizes and trophies will be presented to the top three teams.

 

The tournament will be held on the south side of the facility and will open at 10 a.m.  Food and beverages will be available at 11 a.m.

Annual Kiwanis Pancake & Sausage Day meal

Mark your calendar and buy your tickets for the annual Ada Kiwanis Club Pancake and Sausage Day. The meal will be served from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 14 in the Ada Schools cafeteria. 

Tickets are available from club members and at Liberty National Bank, Ferguson Insurance, Dr. Mark Shull’s office, and Hanson-Neely Funeral Home.

The cost is $7 pre-sale and $8 at the door for the all-you-can-eat meal. Children 10 and under are free. 

Proceeds benefit community projects. The club has been serving the community for 94 years.

Master Gardener classes set

The Allen County and Hardin County OSU Extension Master Gardener Volunteers will partner to host a Master Gardener Volunteer training course for new Master Gardener Volunteers this spring.  

 

The Ohio State University Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program provides intensive training in horticulture to interested Ohio residents who then volunteer their time assisting with educational programs and activities for Ohio residents through their local Ohio State University Extension county office.  

 

Boy Scouts offer free showing of movie

In honor of the centennial anniversary of Ada Boy Scouts and National
Scouting Week, Troop 124 of Ada invites you to a showing of "Follow Me,
Boys!", a Walt Disney production starring Fred MacMurray and Kurt Russell.
The movie will be shown at The Ada Theater on Sunday, February 11th at noon.
The event is free and open to the public.
